Jessica works at the head table for Monte Carlo night. The benefit was sponsored by Residence Life at the University of Pittsburgh and all proceeds from the event were donated to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Katrina relief. Jessica planned the event as a Resident Educator on the Leadership, Service and Career Programming Committee at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to serving as a fund raiser the event also provided an alternative to under age drinking on campus.

Jessica and other participants in the 2006 "Spring Big for a Day" Program held at the University of Pittsburgh. "Bigs" from Pitt were matched with "Littles" from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. Jessica also planned this event as a Resident Educator on the Leadership, Service and Career Programming Committee at the University of Pittsburgh. The hope was that it would help in recruitment for Big Brothers Big Sisters by allowing students to gain first hand experience of the rewards of becoming a mentor to a child.
